Payne Stewart won the U.S. Open in 1991 in an 18-hole playoff. Nine years later, at the Pinehurst Country Club, Payne clinched his second U.S. Open victory with a 20 foot par putt on the 18th hole. This was truly one of the most dramatic victories in U.S. Open history.
