Auction Guide Sheet
Our First Annual Auction is
scheduled for May 31, 2008. This guide is intended to help you
understand what the event is, its purpose and impact, and why
your participation is so important. Please take a minute to read
through it. Thank you!
What Is It?
“Another 100 Years” is an evening
event that involves the entire church. It is our first ever
dinner with live and silent auctions held in our Fellowship Hall
and Sanctuary. The evening is filled with fun and excitement.
The Live Auction will be facilitated by April Brown. See
aprilbrown.com. A
purchased ticket is required to attend.
Why Do We Do It?
This auction is critical to continue
to restore, re-fit and rejuvenate our historic building and is
the most important fund raising activity since our Elevate
Your Faith campaign. The proceeds have an immediate impact
on the quality of this community and our church. This year we
hope to meet our goal of raising $100,000. This money is above
and beyond any RSI contributions and will fund our exterior
fellowship courtyard plan.
The biggest challenge of the auction is procurement - soliciting
items to be donated to the auction. To achieve our financial
goal, we need the participation of every member in the
procurement process. We’re asking each member to donate or
procure items valued at $200 or more.
The Procurement Form
Each item you donate or procure must have a procurement form
associated with it. This is vital for tracking the items and
making sure the donor is properly recognized at the auction.
Make sure you complete the procurement form in its entirety, and
turn it in to the auction area in the lobby on specific Sundays.
Additional procurement forms can be printed by clicking here,
picked up on Sundays in the lobby or by contacting Tracey
Warren.
Kids Projects
It would be really great if we could have the Kids Kingdom
classes work on some projects that would go along with our
theme. If you have talent or the desire to help with this,
please contact the Auction Committee.
Sponsorship/Advertising
In recognition of the focused marketing opportunity our auction
provides, we have developed special programs that permit donors
to become sponsors. Sponsors receive additional recognition and
benefits during the auction in exchange for a financial
donation. Your business also has the opportunity to advertise in
the auction catalog for a small fee. The catalog is handed out
to all auction attendees on the night of the event, and
typically reaches up to 300 people. If advertising or
sponsorship is of interest to you for your own business, or you
know of others who might be interested in this great visibility
opportunity, please contact Tracey Warren at 206-228-6757 or by
e-mail at
cardsender@comcast.net.
Get Involved!
In addition to procuring and donating items, we need volunteers
to help us organize, coordinate, and put on this huge event.
Continue to look for information from the Auction Committee
about ways you can help. Please make sure you sign up for a
task. Whether large or small, your contributions of time and
energy are welcome and appreciated.
